The pulpal response to an experimental luting resin.

چکیده
An experimental luting resin became available for evaluation o f its pulpal irritation potential. The ma terial is a high molecular weight urethane-di-methacrylate which does not require a thinning mo nomer such as tri-ethylene-glycol-di-methacrylate (TEGMA). In each o f 24 anaesthetized adult vervet monkeys labial cavities were cut in each o f the 8 inci sor teeth. In each monkey 2 randomly selected cavi ties were restored with one o f 4 materials — the test resin, a silicate cement and 2 commercial zine oxide/engenol preparations. Specimens were recovered from 8 animals after 2 days, from 8 animals after 28 days and from a further 8 animals after 56 days. The specimens were prepared for histological examin ation. The resin was found to have caused severe in flammatory pulpal reactions in 2 day specimens. After 56 days no inflammatory cell infiltration of the pulp tissue was observable. OPSOMMING

Human pulp response to resin cements used to bond inlay restorations.
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate the pulp response following cementation of inlays using two different resin cements. METHODS Deep Class V cavities were prepared on the buccal surface of 34 sound human premolars. Impressions were taken and inlays were prepared which were cemented with the following luting materials-Group 1: Rely X Unicem (3M ESPE); Group 2: Variolink II (Ivocla...

compare the effect of different ceramic thicknesses on degree of conversion (DC) of 3 light-cured resin cements. Methods: In this experimental in-vitro study, the degree of conversion of three light-cured resin cements, Variolink Veneer (Ivoclar, Liechtenstein), RelyX Veneer (3M ESPE, USA) and Choice2 (Bisco, USA) were evaluated beneath feldespatic ceramic discs (Vita VMK Master) with a same sh...
متن کاملEffect of Accelerated Aging on the Color Stability of Light-cured Res-in Cement and Flowable Composite Through Porcelain Laminate Veneer
Background and Aim: Changing the color of resin luting cements could affect the aesthetic appearance of thin porcelain veneer. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect of artificially accelerated aging on color stability of light-cured resin cement and flowable composite as a luting agent through the porcelain veneer. Materials and Methods: This experimental study was carried ...
متن کاملPulpal responses to two luting cements.
Labial cavities in vervet monkeys were filled with two luting cements and 2 control materials (negative and positive). Specimens were recovered and examined histo logically. There war little difference between the pulpal reactions to the 4 materials. The reactions to the two test materials (luting cements) are, in 28 and 56 day spec imens, not more severe than the reactions to the negative co...

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of adhesive luting on the fracture resistance of zirconia compared to that of a composite resin and a lithium disilicate glass ceramic. MATERIALS AND METHODS The specimens (dimension: 2 mm × 2 mm × 25 mm) of the composite resin, lithium disilicate glass ceramic, and yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (Y-TZP) were p...
